Toddlers Let’s Count is an educational counting game designed to stimulate the mind and help develop eye-hand coordination. Toddlers learn how to count from 1 to 50 and begin the process for learning early mathematical skills through counting.
Using simple animated balloons and with the help of an energetic, enthusiastic and encouraging mouse, your child will slowly begin to associate the amount of balloons they count to the numbers that appear on the screen.
Learn and Test: The googoo lab developing team have created a ‘teach first’, ‘test second’ system. The child plays through their numbers 1 to 10, absolutely free, no ads what so ever. In fact they stay within the looping system until an adult takes them out of the screen by using the press-and-hold method.
For the more advanced preschooler they can then move onto the test portion of the app, which tests their knowledge of each new number they’ve learned. Your child must choose the correct number before moving forward through the test portion of the game. This area of the app reinforces the numbers they’re use to seeing by identifying the correct number. The test won’t allow for progress until they understand that they have to pick the ‘right’ number.
Please keep in mind that not every child can adapt to the test system at first, and it can cause frustration when balloons don’t pop right away.
At googoo lab we believe that early learning must be fun and engaging so we do not use advertising, and that means no interruptions. We put a system in place that allows for on-going fun while learning.
We highly recommend that you use the app with your child, creating talk-time and a shared experience, limiting their time appropriately. Each scene is unique and visually stimulating and every tenth scene has something a little special.
It’s not recommended that your child uses the app before naps or bedtime as it can cause over-stimulation and it may take longer to settle your child down.
Take your toddler’s new-found number knowledge to the real-world, count, count, count everything you see and point out the numbers when you find them. For example: On the Sale-Rack at $2 the numbers found on the back of a cereal box skew code, at the cash when your order is rung up or the numbers found on a traffic speed sign.
Numbers are everywhere and pointing them out will only help your toddler improve when getting back to the test portion of the “Let’s Count” game.
At googoo lab we’re parents too and we care about early education!
